This is going to sound like a really stupid quesion, but I have been thinking about getting a trailer so I can transport my pony to different places but I don't have a clue how much they cost!

If I was going to get one I would want one that could carry 2 ponys. I wouldn't be bothered whether it was new or 2nd hand so long as it was safe.

Thanks for reading. =]

Ours cost about £500...that was 2nd hand off ebay. The woman selling said it was better than her new one and she was only selling because her 17.2hh wouldn't unload backwards! It has made several trips from the uk over to France and back and carries our 2 (around 1000kg) very nicely

It isn't anything special to look at but it is safe

have a look on ebay

Main thing that you need to check is that the floor is safe. If you are not bothered about what it will look like, I should think that you would get a safe trailer for under £800 - £1,000.

I bought a Rice trailer a year ago on ebay for £1100. It had a new floor and had had a rubberised coating on the floor.

First thing I did when I got it home was to put it in for a full service and chek-up. this confirmed that the floor was indeed new and safe. There were a few minor repairs to be done. The service cost £100 and the bits and pieces that needed doing came to £40. But well worth the money for peace of mind!

Of course you could go to a dealer and buy a new trailer for anything from £3K to £8K or even more!
