Due to some planning issues I'm going to have to advertise for more liveries. I replied to a post a while ago that I would never do it again after the hassles i had, i wanted a relaxed yard so didnt really implement any rules which backfired spectacularly on me, but i dont think i have any choice this time. So rules will be put in place and enforced but atm i'm having the mickey taken as i feed the remain one's horse breakfast every day with no thanks and she expects it. She got pissy with me the other morning when i forgot to give it to him because my alarm didnt go off and i was running around like a loon trying to do my 3 before work and i had 30 mins to do it it. But when she got there before me the other day did she feed my horses no she didnt

its not like she had to make them up, they were already done!! grrr anyway enough of the rant, so my point is i'm not going to do anything out of kindness any more, its going to be a business, so it will be treated as one and i would like to know what you would charge on the following as they will be extras (its diy only)

Turn out/bring in
Feed
Change rugs
Muck out
poo pick
Day livery (if away for work etc)
Holiday livery
Basic fitness riding (hacking/flatwork) if wanted whilst on holiday
Any other things that might be charable...?

I want to cover absolutly everything before i take any others on as i dont want the p!ss taken any more, so all advice greatly appreciated. My mom and dad keep telling me not to fuss and you cant do that, but i'm the one that has to keep doing all the work! and i dont think its fair that i work full time in an office to then come home and look after other peoples horses and not get paid for it.

Thankies, nibbles and beverage of your choice for helping!

I suggest you kindly remind your remaining livery that feeding is not included in the cost of livery nor is she paying for it. I wouldn't put up with that kind of attitude if I were running a yard but you should have put rules in place first and not doing favours for people all the time, as you found out they begin to expect it.

I'm not sure on prices but look around on other stables website/ ask around what people pay and try to offer competitive prices for the area that you are in.

I would say:
feed 50p (if already made up and left outside door, otherwise £1)
Turn out/bring in- £1-£1.50 depending on how far away fields are!
Change rugs 50p
Muck out- £3.50-£5 (depending on how dirty horse is, how immaculate they want it etc)
Poo pick- £1.50 per barrowload
Day livery~ £7-£10 if stabled, less if out all the time
Riding- £10 half hour, £15 an hour
Holiday livery, as day livery

These are the sort of prices I've known in the past (around nottingham area). Obviously couldn't have so many variables, have to pick one price so fair for everyone.
