I need to do two ads for my friend - I am helping her sell two horses then buy another to event. This isnt advertising at all just wanted your idea on prices.

One is 15 a catherston horses - had done affiliated dressage but not since 2004 so lost her points. is 17hh. very long. Good jump in her. Double clears BN could go higher but rider doesnt like much higher! Good to hack box shoe etc. lovely temp. full WB. has Nimmerdor lines. won Novice dress Going with Synthetic saddle, and all her rugs

Next one is an 11yr old full TB, has good racing lines. Is VERY bold. Won local HT. Won prelim and novice dress. Good to hack box clip shoe etc. Won un affiliated jumping. Has been jumped over 1.15m at home. Make great eventer. but dressage needs working on. going with a leather bridle

Thanks guys

The first one nothing as I really don't like catherston horses, but because of her age and size I would say £1500

The second horse £3000

Would agree with Diesel Dog exactly including Catherston comments.

She doesnt know!! She is going to bring down breeding tonight for me to look at. She says its by Zandor with a Z.

I will see tonight!!

She wasnt about £4,500 for the TB and about £3,500 for the WB. We will see!!!!

I'm a bit confused - if she doesn't like jumping higher than BN why does she want to event? Sorry if i've got the wrong end of the stick!

I'm not sure on the prices - but I wouldn't pay £3,500 for the WB that wasn't a schoolmaster (i.e. had loads of points and could take a Novice up through the grades)

No you havent, your right she doesnt like jumping much bigger - but really wants to event and do Intro - whic is British Novice size ish!

Well apparently she said as she hasnt been affiliated since 2004 she has lost her points.

But she still has a record of placings etc on BD website

The horse has the points not the rider - anyway I would have thought you could add an element of 'schoolmaster' to the sale if the horse has points. Might make her a little more valuable if you make it a selling feature

She does have good breeding so it is possible depending on her conformation - I would definitely go for the safe, schoolmaster angle with the older one, particularly if she hacks out and will jump (doesnt have to be big).

If you mention possible broodmare make sure you say it is because she is well-bred because people have a habit of selling broken horses as broodmares and you dont want to suggest that in your advert.

She sounds lovely.

good idea!! She difinitely isnt broken, and has the most wonderful temp.

Just a bit to old to start eventing with and not sure exactly how bold XC she would be
