A 2 acre field? No shelter/electric/water supply. I would have to electric fence it myself, and build a shelter (which are not a problem). How much would you offer the farmer?

Depends where it is, around here land is making 20k an acre easily.....madness.....

Agricultural land is generally about 5K/acre, but smaller lots suitable for horses (without stables, with road access) can easily cost 5 times this. Also, most farmers would rather cut off their hands than sell any land. How about renting it?
