Hello i was just wondering how much you would expect to pay per horse for a 3 acre field which has post and rail fencing and hedged boundaries. There is a barn which has water and electrics although a bit run down which can be used to. The hacking around the area is good but the place hasnt got a school. I've been given a price per horse but I have no idea if that is reasonable or not!

Ummm... Well, i have similar to you, though an acre more land and no barn and electric, but water and automatic troughs. I pay £70 a month for that to rent the land, i have two horses on it but im not limited to how many i can have. Not sure if that helps at all..

I've been looking for grazing, currently share a field, I pay £15 a week, access to a feed room, and a yard with electric, but no school. I've found other grazing from £9 a week up to £20, that's per horse.

£25 per week, with stabling and morning's done (incl rug change), if I leave brekkie. I got a good deal.
If I was just renting a field, I'd expect to pay that, if post and rail and water and field shelter, I'd defo pay more - up to £40 per week max.

£25 a week, includes stable, storage, water, lighting and as much hay and straw as we need. No school but brilliant hacking. We rent it privately off a farmer so no other liveries, just me and my friend, bliss!

Im very lucky as I have a 3.5 acre field all to myself, water and use of the cowshed. The man who owns the field is a friend of the family,so I only pay £20.00 PER MONTH FOR horse and pony.

I think if it was elsewhere it would be around £15.00 per week around here (on a farm).

For what you describe I would expect to pay no more than £30 pw for the sole use of 3 acres, to include the leccy/water. I wouldn't put any more than 2 on the field, so effectively £15 per horse per week.

For mine on grass livery I pay £10per week in the summer April-November and £20 per week through the winter as haylage/hay is added, great fields and field shelter.

My cob is on a 7 acre field with 2 others, water on site, no shelter just trees and i pay £10 PW.
I have someone who keeps a pony on my field, theres no water connection and again shelter is trees, i charge them £7.50 PW.

Thanks for your feedback. The place I have been to look at is £12 per week per horse so that does sound about right. Only downside is the barn is a bit run down so we would probably have to get our own stable block/ field shelter.

Some of you pay a lot :o Well it seems a lot to me!

For the use of 3 fields (not P&R fencing), stable yard, have my own tack shed and water I pay £8 PW. It's an 8 acre main field with 6 other horses and they get all year turnout)

At another yard I paid £12.50 PW which included the above and lovely farm hacking.

For somewhere that has P&R fencing I'd pay a little more but I still wouldn't pay £25 a week for just grazing.
