A friend has been checking my 2 ponies and throwing a couple of slices of hay in the field for them 5 days a week for the last 3 weeks for me. How much do I offer her? Hopefully after next week (so 4 weeks she'll have been doing it then) ill be able to get there, but depends on weather really as will be in a walking cast rather than a full cast .

No she's doing it when she walks her dog past the field on its daily walk. I was thinking that too but was thinking it seemed a bit stingy lol

I'd work out how long it takes her to do (including travel if necessary) and then work on around £8 an hour.
£100 seems not that much for four weeks of help but if it's really not out of her way and takes little time then maybe that's ok, you can always add to that flowers, chocolates, wine, tickets to something, dinner out together (at your friends preference) to show her you really appreciate her help.

As I said above she walks past the field as its on her dog walk so can't really factor time/ distance into it. It's a 2 min job once she's there as hay on a pallet by the gate and she just pops over gate with it.

Id give her a tenner a week as a token unless she is specifically going out of her way. It must take her 2 seconds to chuck the hay over the fence and give them a once over!

I'd give her £50 and a box of chocolates. Its hardly out her way and £100 seems alot to just chuck hay over the gate on her way past. I wouldnt take £100 off someone if i'd done that for them x

It is not much trouble for her but it has to be done every day and if she didn't do it then OP would be looking at £10 min per trip for a horse sitter type person and would be stuck if you couldn't find one.

So I still think offer the £100, she might say its too much in which case go for £50 plus chocolates but offer the more generous amount.
