Just bought a 2 year old. iron grey gelding, is about 15.0hh or 15.1hh. his name is lyndell solitude out of wolfstan lonestar and solitaire XIV. he is a registerd ISH but his father is a salle france and his mom arabx something lol. father was 16.2 and mother about 14.3/15.00. just wondering how much u think he will grow? and if any of you have late developers or horses who have had growth spurts late.

considering he is only about 15hh ish maybe little bigger you think hel grow to 16hh? i'd love it if he did!! hope keeps growing untill hes 5/6 or has a massive growth spurt lol... just wondering if u know of any horses that were small as a 2yrs old and then got quite a lot bigger at 3/4?

We have one at the yard that came as a 3yr old last year at nearly 16hh, now is nearly 16'3'', so guess it depends on te horses breeding

pics here, he arrived just now. quality crap as it very dark and camera crap.
he looks alot smaller in his stable than he did outside, just crossing my fingers he'll make atleast 15.2hh. looks about 14.3/15hh in his stable :00
(note eye closed because he was blinking hes not msissing an eye lol)

My 2yo ISH is about 15 hands atm and I'm hoping he'll make 16hands at least. He's by a 16.2 ID out of a 15h ISH mare. He looks quite like yours actually, he's the same colour and is greying out even more in his winter coat!

ahhh thats very promising. and this one has the same height parents as yours, so its interesting

I think it is a bit of a lottery. My 2yold is about 15 hands now, sire is 16.3, dam is 16.2. She has 2 full brothers who are 16.2 and a 3rd full brother who is 18 hands.........she's a warmblood x TB.

I am hoping for 15.3/16 hands.
