Well I was reading the post earlier about over priced horses etc and was wondering what you think Sparky is worth.
I bought him for 4K. He was advertised originaly at 7.5k as he has so much potential, then lowered to 6.5k but as I knew them I got him for 4.
I bought him knowing he had hang ups such as a stop, a buck but fab dressage and a hell of a lot of scope - would easily jump full up 1.20, possibly 1.30 courses with the right rider.
He is 12 years old and still not reached his full potential. He has good breeding
Sire:
Dam:
He is a NF pedigree.
I have done PC, showjumping, HTs, ODEs, Hunted him 1st time with no problems. He is much better and rarely stops now. He is 13.3 and could go so far but needs a bigger rider to show him who is boss otherwise he will take the piss. He is a fantastic PC pony who will look after his rider. He has jumped intro and PN fences with ease
Here are some piccies

I for some reason do not look as big on him now as I did when i bought him, I have lost quite a lot of weight. However I will be growing out of him by the end of the winter and will want to sell him march time i should think.
Thanks

as he has only jumped a max of PN height and is 12, i would have to say 5k personally.
depending on how good an alrounder he is, and as he is in the awkard height (13.3) for a sj, it would mean that he is competing against the full up 14.2hh in sj and so would lower his price.

he could be an ideal pony clubbing pony, so depends on how you word the advert really and how his record looks.

I would say around what you paid for him is basically what he's worth. Ability to do 1.20 course doesn't mean a lot unless he's actually got a competition record at Foxhunter to be honest.

He is a cracking pony, but at 12, you can't sell on potential. If you did have him jumping DCs at Fox then his price would double or more, but unless you get some good affiliated results then his worth is limited IMO.

Could you not get him out doing some BSJA? It would put the price up a lot.

Is he a full up 13.3? Because don't forget its 138cm, not 13.2 for SJing. So 148cms are nearly 14.3hh!

At the moment I would think about £4,000

TBH, the fact he is 13.3 would seriously devalue him I think except as a PC pony, he can't really do registered unless he would measure in at 13.2
At 12yrs, potential means nothing, so his record would say a nice pc pony. I'd be thinking 2.5-3K max based on the fact that he is also not an easy ride.
Of course I could be way off!
