Cos of money and our new baby, I'm gutted that I might have to sell my horse and I'd love your advice as to what he might be worth. Because it's early days, and I may well change my mind and work out some way to afford to keep him, I'd rather not say his name but his record is as follows..
07
3 intros - won 2, placed 1,
IRF - double clear but unplaced
5 PN - won 1, placed in 3, 11th in one
08
2 PN - placed in both
7 Novice - placed in 4, 3 unplaced total of 8 points
He's a compact TB, 16.2hh gelding but up to weight (a 14 st man competes him), 8 yrs old. He's entered for a CIC * and we're aiming him at CCI * at the end of the year.
His dressage is very accurate and well-mannered but he's not a flashy mover, although he normally scores between 27 and 33. Some judges prefer flashy movers and mark him down but he's very consistent and always does a similar test but the score varies according to the judge. His SJ is brilliant and very clean, although he's had a few 4 faults at novice. His XC is brilliant, he's fast, obedient, very straight to a line and has only once had a stop xc and that was just bad luck. He certainly has scope to go all the way and will be ready to go intermediate and 2* next season.
He's a very characterful horse and needs to be competed regularly to be kept in check. He would not suit an uncompetitive owner and he doesn't do soppy, he just likes to get on with the job in hand, a real pros horse.
Any thoughts? Thanks so much,
