Well, a while ago I posted about asking the price for my pony, and thought I would ask again now that she has drastically improved:
Monica, 13.2hh black mare, almost 12 years old. Is ridden by an 11 year old, always in a snaffle, whether jumping or flat work. Doesn't need any gadgets or strong bits, doesn't need a martingale or anything. With a good rider, she goes in a nice outline in walk and trot, and is down most of the time in canter. She hacks brilliantly, and will happily go first or last, and is fine in faster traffic, including tractors, farm machinery etc. Recently jumped a course of about a metre, with one jump about 1.05m high with about the same spread. Happy with all fillers, including water trays, ladders, tiger traps etc. She also goes brilliantly XC, and is always fast and takes the rider around. Brilliantly with water, steps (including into water), ditches, anything, you name it. Recently came 4th at Todburn. Despite being 12, she doesn't act her age, though has a very sane head.
She's been at the same home for 5 years now, and is a pretty good weight carrier, and is on the chunkier side, yet is as fast, if not faster, than leaner ponies, and she can turn on a sixpence and still make the fences. Rarely refuses or knocks a pole. Really is worth her weight in gold, or at least I think she is. (sorry for lack of pictures, have a very limited supply on this computer).
Thanks for any help
