Was amazed yesterday as Pidge was in his box after being worked before having his tea and a very large bee went in the box round his front legs

Pidge spotted it straight away and went to get it

I told him to "leave it" well more like growled it at him and bless him he stopped and fortunately the bee flew out of the box

I was so pleased with him as I use "leave it" when he's up to michief usually throwing my coat or his rug on the floor so was glad it has come in useful

BLess him, he's a star. Hol is pretty obedient, except if she's in a beasty mood. or their is food involved!!! Greedy piglet pony

over the last few months my (only just!) yearling has continued to astound me as to how well behaved and good natured she is. At the moment I have to lead her and 2 others down to our bottom field, and as I was on the way to the first gateway this evening I managed to drop her lead rope, so I just went "stop!" and all three of them stopped dead until I picked up Flo's leadrope!

I was well chuffed with my girls for doing that!!!

Magnus is pretty obeidient. You can "park" him anywhere, i guess NH people would call it ground tying. It's very useful when the youngsters are about i just lept off him in the middle of some parkland last week and left him there to go help with jakey! Stayed there and didn't even eat. Great for harnessing demonstrations too, plus if you look at him and wave you hand he'll come over and follow you about like the 17hh puppy he is!
Although, today infront of a crowd of about 30 people he took my bowler hat off my head and started waving it about...... then he got applause and proceded to do it about 5 more times... wouldn't have minded if it wern't a £150 Christies bowler!

Lolly is very obedient.

She helps you get her halter and bridle on by pushing her nose into the nose band,

she lifts her feet to be picked before i ask her.

she opens the stable door, lock and all. (not so helpful)

Poppy on the other hand is just the opposite. Little madam LOL

I just say 'this one' and point to each foot and Jack lifts them. If I say 'back' he walks backwards- I have to keep walking towards him for this. 'over' and a light touch he moves over. If I say 'round' he will turn round and round on haunches (have to be on him for that). 'car coming' - moves over to verge.
But we work on these signals on most hacks so I am trying to get him sharper all the time.
I can park him and he stays too.- but only if tacked up

I would have to say he is the most obedient, smartest horse I've owned.

My boy is quite obedient. Hand up means move back, which he does a couple of steps and I point at which leg I want him to lift. He'll never wander off and has never shown any naughty behaviour. Quite good for a young horse.

George is pretty good, he will stand in his stable with the door open, or outside the tack room whilst I get something. He also follows me round the school whilst I pick up poos or put poles away. He will back up when I ask and we are working on moving over. If I am leading him and stop he will stop too.

My horse undid the bolt on his door, followed me on tippy toes to the feed room (I didnt hear him) and waited outside patiently for his tea. the door was open and he didnt even attempt to come in.

I felt is eyes on me and without buckets or treats walked to the stable and called him and he came walking in of his own free will. This has happened twice.

Also when he is cheeky, I say his name in a certain tone (school teacher voice my friend calls it) and he realises he has gone to far and stops whatever he shouldnt have been doing.

He is very intelligent.

Rrr bless him!!!

Mine is when it suits him. Last night he was pretty obedient, I was skipping out while he was tied up outside his stable the I noticed his head vanish and heard him going through my drawers looking for sweets so I called 'DRUM' then he looked up like what, me, no, doing nothing!! Then waited till I was busy again, he did this about 3 times and stopped as soon as I called his name each time. So I was very pleased with him and thought ahhhh what a good boy!! Then I put him to bed, then went to drag in a fresh water bucket at which moment he bolted out the stable and went to polish of his neighbours breakfast

I can put merlins feed down in the field and do his suncream and fly spray before he is allowed to eat it!!

He does all the usual back and over stuff, but is brilliant at a mounting block...... he will sidle over to it so you can get on, and when you have finished he will get as close as possible so that you can get off again!!!

Also opening gates, he now knows when I get hold of the handle and lean back slightly, that he has to rein back and turn round the gate...... not bad for a horse who not long ago could remove a kneecap in his hurry to get through the smallest of gaps!!!
