How often can you hunt as a guest

Question is in the title really. I was really looking forward to introducing my mare to at least autumn hunting this season to see whether we could both survive the experience (she has a tendency to wind herself up) but unfortunately, since she is only just coming back into work after two months' box rest, it will have to wait another year.
I am however desperate to hunt and can probably afford to go three or four times (on a friend's horse and the odd hireling) but have been told by someone that you could only go twice as a guest- is this usually the rule? As I would have to hire a horse at least twice I couldn't afford a full subscription this season- do you think it's worth asking the hunt if I can come as a guest more often?

To be honest it depends on the Hunt I have two local hunts to me and one of them you can go 3 times and the other you can go 5 times

As burness says - each hunt is different. Ours you can have four days as a guest. We also have a seven day membership. However there is no limit on cubbing days, so you could always try that as often as you want.

Thanks- think alas that the hunt nearest to me does indeed have a two-day rule. Will have to travel a little in that case!

Please ring the secretary and ask- most have the ability to be flexible to account for individual circumstances.

My hunt does a bargain autumn hunting sub that goes from now til the opening meet in November :) plus you can often get a 4 or 5 day sub which might suit :)

will definitely give them a ring- was rather gutted by the timing of my mare's lameness as she'd been going so well and I was really looking forward to taking her hunting, but I guess that's often the way it goes with horses!

Forgot to mention you have to get said tickets off riding club secretary first.

It's the only way I can hunt now as can't afford the adult cap.

Some hunts, including us, do a book of 6 tickets. Works out slightly less than paying a day cap. Would certainly ring the secretary. In the current economic climate you may find they will turn a blind eye if you go out a few extra days. (If you are well behaved)

Our hunt will let you hunt as often as you like paying a day ticket - but we also do a book of 3 or 6 tickets which is better value than day tickets to the same number (and doesn't give you voting rights at the AGM.), but not as good value as a well used full sub (which does have voting rights).
