Just curious as i have to bath mine often as he looks like this:

He gets filthy, especially at the yard!!

Also sorry the pics so big

I don't actually bath mine... he's a lab so they take forever to dry if you bath them because of the double coat (I did try it once you see - but well over a year ago)... plus it strips the oils from his coat. Instead I brush him daily and use a homemade spray on him (with 4 essential oils diluted in water) which keeps him smelling nice and his coat is lovely and shiney

It also puts the flea's off, and he loves being brushed with it.

Depends on your dog breed I guess... and mine is black rather than a light colour..

Wow- please can I have the secret ingredients??? Mine is long haired and very skanky! She gets bathed every few months before she is clipped but always seems smelly!

He has been bathed once in the time we've had him, because he rolled in goose poo, and he was stinking!! He gets mucky out walking, but unless he stinks he doesn't get bathed, after a couple of hours he is back to his clean self (although my carpet and sofa have definately got dirtier!!)

He's been ok the past week or so, due to everything being frozen! he's a bit whiffy even after hes had a bath! & i dnt want to keep bathing, because im sure if must effect their coat. We have a 'carpet' dog aswell at home, he's too much of an asbo 2 go to the yard so compared 2 him little oz really smells!!

I have black labs, young one 2.5yrs has never been bathed!

Old one 8yrs has had a couple in her life time, but is like a pinball machine afterwards ricochetting around the house!

If they roll in something usually they get hosed off or left to dry & then brushed out!

I have a dachshund who basically gets black whenever it rains, so he gets a full belly and paw wash. He has a bath if he's really filthy and muddy - he loves water, muck and generally running round fields so probably more often than is recommended! But his coat and skin are great, I use a sensitive shampoo just in case.

Dont have a choice in bathing our Lab, cause he jumps in the bath whenever he feels like it, which is often - he absolutely loves the shower - but it is a nightmare to dry him - have tried locking him out of the bathroom, but he flings himself at the door and one of these days he will knock it off its hinges

I bath mine of we are going to a show (which is almost never) or if they have rolled in something offensive. In winter they get a quick hose if they are muddy, which they just love....NOT. LOL
