Hi Everyone

We are doing abit of market research,

How often do you replace your rugs on average - what rug do you seem to replace the most - turnouts, stable, travel or fly rugs?

On every every 4 - 5 years for the cheaper ones and my oldest heavyweight is about 10 years old and washed/proofed at the end of the winter season and as good as new.

As above... when they fall apart and are no longer useable.

All my rugs are washed, reproofed and repaired at least once a year, and now that I've found brands that I like, I know that they'll last me. I have one heavyweight turnout which has wintered out on the back of my TB and the Connie before her, for the last eight years. Still waterproof, still comfy, still works.

Most of my turnout and stable rugs have been with my horse longer than I have. I am going into my fourth winter with her this year and know they have definately all been around for 5. They are all still fab...

Tend to buy not so cheap rugs so they seem to last a long time. Rambo Duo is my main winter turnout rug, its been washed and re-proofed regularly and still going strong. Stable rugs and fleeces not really changed as same again, quality pays in the end. Use Weatherbeeta and Amigo range and just bought a Rambo Newmarket fleece for this winter.

I have tended to only need to replace my outdoor and I do have top end rugs (Fal/Horsewear) but that was because I felt the filling had lost its warmth after 3 years so it was downgraded as a lower warmth rug and then replaced with another high end high tog one.

All other rugs seem to keep going for ever! as long as they are regularly cleaned.. The only rug I will need to buy this year is a m/w stable rug. The current one doesn't come down far enough for my liking!
