Just being nosey and wondered how often you do you ride? My mare will only hack in company and we have no school, she's out 24/7. I work full time and some times only get to ride Saturday and Sunday and feel sooo guilty at times. Is it just me?

In winter I only ride at weekends due to work and dark evenings but through summer I ride almost every night, with having 2 I alternate.

I try and ride whenever I can, at the mo it's about 4 times a week, a mixture of schooling and hacking. It's less in winter, depending on the ground conditions.

Through winter i only get to ride at weekends as i work 9-5 and have no school, if the weather is bad then my weekend riding can be ruined.
Luckily my mare is more or less the same to ride even if she's had 2 weeks off.:)

In summer i ride after work when i can so probably 4-5 days a week.

At the moment i'm selling a horse for a friend so most of my riding is concentrated on her at the moment - luckily my mare is happy to be a paddock ornament for a month or so! :D

I ride about 4/5 times a week, I used to ride everyday, but now we have a new sharer for my mums cob she rides abnout 3 times a week so that helps me out.

on average about 5 times a week but its easier because i have a school before i moved yards i was the same as you and only rode at weekends as long as horse is happy whats it matter?

Every day if i can, but my horse is prone to being overweight so this time of year I am terrified of her getting lami....I try to do at least 30 mins even if just bimbling in school. Will yours hack with someone on a bike or on foot, maybe someone could come with you a couple of evenings instead of having to wait till the weekend for horse company? I've been in that situation myself so I know its not easy.....but if she's well and a safe weight even on the spring grass I wouldn't worry.........

I ride 6 times a week, sometimes my poor lad doesn't even get a day off! But he has a weak stifle and so must be worked properly at least 6 times a week. Otherwise the muscle round his stifle weakens and doesn't hold it in place properly. And he gets fat on thin air so needs lots of exercise to keep trim.

If your mare is happy and well then I wouldn't worry.

I ride my boy 6 days a week as it suits us both, he gets grumpy without work.

But as others have said, as long as she is happy and healthy, you have nothing to feel guilty about.

End March-End Oct I ride 6 days per week as it is light enough to hack after work. I usually hack/compete at weekends, 2 short hacks (1hr ish) after work and 2 schooling sessions.

Nov-March I ride 4 times per week (weather depending - less if school is frozen!), hack/compete weekends and school twice in the week.

I work full time and have mine on DIY - it is hard work to fit it in! I don't get home much before 9pm on weeknights. But I like her fit, not fat!

Whenever I feel like it. My friend usually rides my boy on the forest on Wednesdays, I have a lesson on Thursdays, Saturdays I either ride or take him for a walk in-hand on the forest and Sundays we have a long ride on the forest with another friend. That could change if my train is late home, or I've had a long day or I just feel like grooming. I used to put a lot of pressure on myself in relation to the amount of (or lack of) riding I did. Now, I would say I ride at least twice a week; there's no chance of me having the energy to do it everyday.

Feel very proud of myself over this winter for hacking out at least 3 times per week this winter in all weathers, including hailstorms. In the hols I read most days, when I'm working (I work early evenings) I ride 3 or 4 mornings per week usually for at least an hour and a half. My horse is stabled overnight in winter and out 24/7 in the summer.

I ride my pony 3 - 4 times a week, schooling and hacking up to an hour, I`m pregnant and he is only 3.5 years so neither of us needs much work. He has a sharer who schools him for 20 -30 mins or does a quiet hack once or twice a week too.

I ride six times a week. My boy needs work to stay sane as we have limited turnout. Mostly schooling atm as our hacking is limited, but hoping to move to somewhere with better hacking soon. I ride for 45 mins before work four days a week and then both weekend days. Once we move I plan to alternate hacking and schooling with at least one mammoth hack a week :D

3-4-5 times a week but have 2 horses so less than I should. Both at home turned out 24/7 but able to come in whenever they want. Full on job out of house 12 hours a day plus some weekend work. Feed and do stables in the morning before work (they need a muck out when weather is foul as they like to shelter). Ex-racehorse loves his stable however old mare hates being in so they get best of both worlds.
Would love to ride more, but needs must and all that boring stuff.
That said have taken decision to have lessons again which will force me to ride more and get out competing again! Must learn to work to live rather than other way round...

In winter I ride 3 times a week

Wednesday afternoon when I have the afternoon off school and sat/sun

Recently moved to a livery with flood lit school so this might make riding on an evening possible!

In summer I ride 4/5 times a week
Normally schooling 2 times, a hack and either jumping lesson or a blast on xc course

I could ride everyday but livery 20 mins away so fuel costs etc! Plus still have the 2 little ponios at home so have those to do awell

I ride about 5 times a week in the summer, but never in the winter.

I don't have a school to ride in, so we can only hack out. This isn't helped by the fact that he refuses to hack alone - which he expresses by spinning, bucking and bolting home.

However, you can not ride for months and he'll still be exactly the same as before - so he's as good as gold really :)

I usually ride about 4 times a week, mainly hacking but do try to get a schooling session in if I can - sometimes just too tempting to hack when weather is good! We do have an indoor school though so if rainy will go in there. She is also ridden a couple of time a week by my sharer but is happier doing something rather than just stood in the field! :)

Fergs, 6/7 days a week over spring/summer/autumn, dropping off to a few times a week in the worst of winter (weather dependant as have no school). Always gets a day off after horseball matches, usually after heavy xc schooling type things, but not necessarily after other competing :p Additionally try to ride J a couple of times a week, usually just a short hack each time though.
