Hi,
Just as the title says really, how much clipping can you do before your blades need sharpening?

I'm pretty new to clipping and found one set of my clipper blades haven't lasted very long.
My standard set clipped my VERY hairy cobs feathers off and they went blunt.
My coarse set have hogged once and clipped the same hairy cobs feathers three times and still not too bad, which I'm happy with.

Should I not be using standard blades for such thick hair?

personally i wouldnt use any blades other than coarse blades on feathers or a hairy cob, i'd use the standard set for the 2nd clip after a couple of weeks when it's started to regrow, but not overly thick, for example, i clip my irish draught with standard blades for his first clip then 3 weeks later clip with fine blades.

Thanks for the reply! I'm not planing on using standard blades for clipping legs again lol. When I clip his legs I fill a wheelbarrow easily!!
