:o just curious.. my jhods last about a week which, apparently, is a long time but generally they are blue/black and don't show the dirt

I change my tops every other day or so, although I wear a jumper over the top which also gets changed once weekly :o

Don't ask me about socks. It's best just not to go there ;)

I am such a pig, you wouldn't guess that I'm female by that, would you? :p

Every thing i wear at the weekend goes in washer sun night, jackets pants ect. Boots scrubbed and put back in bag in car, but my car....... well thats an extention of the stable, I do clean it if taking someone out in it, last time it went for a service they did it in double quick time!!! Oh and the dog gets a bath sundays too...........

LOL, my boyfriend isnt horsey and hates the smell :( so i dont get long in anything before its sent to the washer! hes given up trying with boots and wellies, they are just kept in a cupboard on their own!

Socks and pants get washed after every wear. Tops I try to get two days out of depending upon how many layers I'm wearing, the weather, and how much my mare uses me as a handkerchief. I might manage more days from a jumper if I've had a coat and base layer on but less if it has been hot and I've been wearing just a t-shirt.

Jodhs, I like to get 2-3 wears as I don't have many pairs. Ironically, my beige ones seem to stay cleaner longer than black or navy ones.......

Coats and gloves etc only get washed when totally minging!

I in general will wear my jods (that are all dark) about 3 or 4 times in general before washing them, but this is because my horse is on full livery also so I just come to groom him and ride him etc. I do everything but muck out so don't get very dirty or smelly.

Tops are changed everyday (hate the thought of putting on a dirty t shirt)
Boots are cleaned.. urmmm.. basically never.. (as don't muck out just ride in them)
Chaps are leather so are wiped down occasionally.
Coats in the winter are washed every couple of weeks
Jumpers, that depends if they are dirty.. they are usually worn 2 or 3 times before going in the wash.

I never wear the same jods twice if riding. But will try to get 2 days out of my yard clothes. However, Cappy is a slobberer and likes to wipe his face after his lick so not always possible. Coats/jackets are washed as needed.
FDC

Jackson - generally yes. Tshirts, socks and undies are washed every time worn, breeches will do 2 days, fleeces do about half a week but washed more often if needed, jackets as needed. I'm obsessed with vanish and with my washing machine and happy to admit it !

Yearly. :o

Not really sure tbh depends what it is. White/ beige joddies are washed after each wear as they just get flilthy but dark joddies tend to last longer.

:o I am shocked how long people wear dirty clothes!

I am a full time groom (ride on days off) so I live in jods etc. I wash my clothes daily.

Everything I wear goes in the laundry bin the same day, I cringe at the thought of wearing something two days in a row, or even worse, putting something back on unwashed several days later.

Jackets are a different matter, they usually get slung in the wash once a week.

Those who wash after every wear, do you ride/visit your horse daily? It seems like an awful amount of washing for me :p

I live on the yard, I work on the yard daily, if nothing actually looks dirty it still smells and will be covered in hair. I generally only do one wash a day, after 9pm (cheap rates;))

I also change before I cook supper in the evening, or if I've gotten filthy or really sweaty - come hay time, and the hot weather (I don't live in the UK, summers are hotter and more humid here) I may change shirts two or three times a day. Those clothes will be in the wash too, I may be a little OCD-ish about clean clothes come to think of it.:(

When my horse is at home, as he normaly is, I tend to slop around a bit more with mucky clothes, i.e. hoof oil on jods, wormer all over me and not in the horse! Plus generally honk totally of "horse".

But he's away on livery at the mo, and its a professional yard, so I've had to raise my game a bit as they've got a dress code, i.e. no jeans!!! - so for once in my life I wore clean jods to the yard today! Horse didn't recognise me!

Then I must be OCD too! I am sat here in my minging yard clothes that look pretty clean but they will smell, there is some snot on my shoulder and I got rained on. The thought of putting them back on for work tomorrow makes me feel a bit ill:o

The last time my car went for a service, the man valeting it ended up going home sick before he finished it.....sort of says everything really.
I'm a bit of a minger.....my clothes sort of get washed when I can actually be arsed....which isn't very often!

Got to say some of you lot are mingers!!!LOL :p I work on a yard and wash everything daily, only time may wear the accasional thing twice is in the summer when i put a jumper on at home and its to warm by the time i get to work so i take it straight off, or maybe get 2 wears out joddies in the winter when ive got tights on underneath and waterproofs in top. I also have a 7year old who has a pony and rides daily and she also wears clean yard clothes daily, we both get in a strip clothes straight in washing machine and both in the shower. Im not a massive clean freak but yard clothes stink!!LOL

You sound perfectly normal to me. At least that's my kind of normal as I also bin my clothes every day and change into clean clothes for supper.

Depends, really! Undies are fresh every day, but I try to get a bit more out of everything else! Have got 4 days out of jodhs, but usually tops are 2 or 3 wears. I don't mind 'horsey' smell (neither does OH, luckily!) but if there's any 'muck' or mud in his car, then there's trouble!! Coats etc only get washed when really need it!!

I think a lot of the difference between people like littlemisslauren, enfys, and us mingers is what we are doing and for how long.

Obviously it is different to wear your horse clothes 8am - 6pm and be working all that time with a number of horses compared to popping your jodhs on for two hours after work.

I change out of my riding things when I get home so they really haven't had a full days wear. In a typical day I'll be in a suit all day, then riding clothes for a couple of hours then some casual clothes at home. most of the clothes haven't been worn for long, it would be very wasteful to wash three outfits a day!

In got the horses at home so tend to wear tracky bottoms and vest top mainly as no one sees me!! Get washed every other day!! Rarely wear jods as prefer to ride in jeans n they get washed every few days!
