Hi,

i have an experienced novice evernter & was contemplating having four runs over the next five weekends. Does anyone think this is OK is am i trying to do too much??

They would be:

Rodbaston,
Somerford,
Arley,
Sansaw,
Llanymynech

Thanks

That's 5 events you've listed, do you mean 1 every weekend for the next 5 weeks?

Personally the most Ive done (and Im at same level as you - novice) is 2 weekends running, then a weekend off and then another event. But then this is mainly just because thats when events nearish me happen to be, they're usually pretty spaced out. Like now, I dont have another one until end of June. Even if I had ones available to go to every weekend, I wouldnt. Id probably do what Thistle does and do 2 a month.

I think due to the ground conditions it would be unwise. I would limit the amount of eventing unless good going

I think ur right. The only reason i was thinking about it was because they are closer to me than most, knowing that later in the year i can go over a month without running & the fact that he is for sale & want to post some decent results!

during our season, we run every week as the northern events tend to run in sessions of 6 weeks.
eg the first season is just over, I ran in all but one (he stood on something the night before) and sister ran in them all, thats 5 events with a one week break between the last 2. wE did this last yr too, no problems.
In the summer season, I'll be running at every event plus PC stuff (provided they're not the day before etc.) The max height we'l do is novice, and hopefully won't have a problem
So long as they're not overworked in between and given a break soemtime during the year I would have thought you'd be fine. Depends on your horse too!

Can understand your theory behind so many runs so quickly, on good ground you would probably be OK but IMO with ground like concrete not something I would risk TBH. If you horse has a consistent record already I am sure potential buyers (or certainly the sort of buyer you would ideally want) will understand lack of runs due to ground conditions.
