I was thinking the otehr day I have had my saddle now for 2 years (bought brand new made to order). My saddler came out a year ago to check my saddle as I bought my new horse and need to check it fitted her properly and she looked it over and it was ok.

But I was wondering should I now have it re-checked again 1 year on for it to be re-flocked and to check the leathers on it? How long after being made would a new saddle need to be re-done, it dosen't look like it needs doing and isnt causing problems but then again I dont have a trained eye.

I get my saddle checked whenever my horse changes size or shape - probably works out to be about 3 times a year, sometimes it needs reflocking sometimes it doesn't, If you haven't had it checked for a year, since it was pretty new, the flocking will flatten out over time, so I'd get the saddler out!
Do you have your horse's back checked?

yes she has her back checked every 6 months unless I notice any change in her or issues with it before that time is up. I have a local back person every 6 and once a year Gavin Schofield the best in the business. (thats when he is in my area) www.gavinscofield.com

At the least, you should get your saddle and it's fit checked a minimum of once a year. It may need re-flocking, it may not.
