Bridle 3 1/2yo,
Saddle can't remember but only a couple of years i think, 2 1/2yo maybe?

Holly:
Bridle 1-2yo,
Saddle pretty old! The phone number on the plate, the code doesn't have the '1' after the '0' so must be 15yo + i would have thought!

Boys have bridles bought about 4 months ago. Phantom has new saddle bought this year, probably around August time.
Herbie has an older leather saddle that was Magic's, so quite old but looked after. Will be getting him a new one in Jan though

I do change bridles frequently, even if there is nothing wrong with them!

M has quite a nice leather bridle which I think is pretty new. Her saddle is an older type, but comfy and does the job. She'll be getting new saddle in the spring and new bridle so I can use the one she came with for best.

They share an exercise bridle which is about 9 years old (cost me £9....Bargin!).
My dressage saddle which they also share is 10 months old
I have no idea how old Olypics old Stubben is
They both are both sharing Missy's jumping saddle at the moment which I think is a few years old.

All of mine is under 2 years old as I have only had my 2 current horses for 1 and 2 years respectively. One saddle is 2 years old and the other is new but both were Ebay bargains so didnt cost much, I do plan to hang onto these saddles for a long time though, they are Saddle Co so in theory I shouldnt need to change them again....

The saddle is probably a hundred years old

Both the saddles are probably about 7 years old, one was made to measure and the other was a lucky find secondhand - it might be a bit younger than that actually.
I have one nice elderly bridle that only comes out for shows, etc, the ones used daily are probably 3 years old, and for really grim days I have a webbing bridle

They're both the same size head wise (I don't need to adjust the bit height for them) which is handy

but I can only just get away with the jump saddle on Olympic (it isn't going to do him any harm until he has his own again)

She's had the same bridle for about 10 years but I think I'm going to buy a bling browband for it

LOL
I did buy a new saddle last year.

ETS: I'm rather anal about keeping her tack in tip top condition so it lasts

Most of my tack is at least 15 years old, saddles are 20/25 years! Thing is, it's all been good quality English leather made by proper Master Saddlers and if I keep looking after it properly I expect it to out last me at any rate!

I can't believe that some of the saddlery around today will last anywhere near as well or as long, it's not in the same class IMO.

I am daily using a bridle that was made to measure for a horse I had back in 1978. Sadly I sold the original reins by mistake when I sold a pony with bridle.

Some of my tack is even older than that, as it came with my sister's original pony and I can't even remember when that might have been, in the 1960s. It hasn't been used for a bit as it is all cob size and now we are full size everything. (Mm, maybe some reins that get used on a double bridle). Certainly the leather doesn't last as well as it used to, something to do with the tanning process I think.

Brown jump bridle, brought April 2006, Black "exercise" bridle is about 4yrs old, Albion best bridle is about 2mnths old, jump saddle ws brought June 2006, Dressage saddle is about 3yrs old.

Think my saddle is fairly old, between 10-15 I think. One bridle is about 2 1/2 and the other must be nearly 5 or 6

The Barnsby was new in 2000! a load of them had new saddles that year.

I still have some of the tack I bought as a child, all in good safe working order and used regularly. One running martingale I currently using I know is 20 years old and you would not know it. I agree with MFH_09 that much of todays tack is not of the same quality.

Someone on the yard came back today with a snapped martingale. It was only a fortnight old, yes it got caught on a gate but apparently it snapped with much ease!

Magic's saddle would be (approx) 20 years old, but it's not in need of re stuffing and is quality leather. I sold my childhood saddle last year... and that was in fab nick (was a barnsby show saddle which I wish i'd kept as it would have been ideal for showing M).

I still have the original tack which came with my very first pony (who I also still have!), I got him when he was 5 and he's now 20 so guess its over 15 years old! Bloody hell... but actually its still in very good nic! I had the saddle checked last year and they said it was still in very good nic!

Tinto - His dressage saddle I bought last year 2nd hand but looked brand new so its probably only a couple of years old. His GP I bought brand new when I got him which was 3 years ago. His bridle was bought 2 years ago, am about to replace it though.

Shadow - His saddle I bought new when I got him 3 years ago and he got a new bridle a few months ago.

And I have a synthetic saddle which I bought about 10 years ago. Still in very good condition and it seems to fit any passing-through ponies!

Bitted bridles 3 years old. Bitless 6 months old. One saddle is 2 years old, 1 is 3 months old34, dont know how old the other saddle is as it came with the horse about 3 years ago

My sidesaddle I use was made in 1933, does anyone have anything older that they still use?

My side saddle (a Champion & Wilton copy made by an unknown county saddler) was made about 1920, it's a transistional one with a very slight dipped seat (very comfy) but has wide flared doeskin pommels and seat.

Bridles both about 10months old, and I use my old one for lunging.

Saddle - got 2nd hand so not sure, about 5yrs I guess. Getting a new one at end of Jan though as his current one has to have a riser pad underneath.

Stans bridle is 15 years old! still looks like new then again its jeffries leather and has been looked after. I have no problems useing it in the showring.
his saddle is 4 years old and made to measure but only because we had an accident with his last one and broke the tree of it!
