How old were you when you went onto horses?

10 on a 15hh, on a 16.3hh by 12, I have very long legs

Never ever started on ponies - my first rides at age of 13/14 were on 14.2hh - within 18months, I was riding a 17hh (am rather leggy)

However my first taste of something of my own was a 13.2

I was 14 but i wasn't meant to! I had a 14.2hh on loan before I went on to my sisters 15hh but the loan didn't work out so I shared my dads horse for a year who was 16hh. Then I wen back down to 15hh when i was 15, then up to 16.1hh when I was 16.

i had my horse (well i say horse but he's only 15.1) when i was 16. Before that, i was still riding and competing my 12.2 (i was a very small 16 yr old and only 5ft 2 now!)

I was 15, he was only 15hh when I got him, but is now 15.2. I still have my pony though ( I couldnt sell him, he has too many special needs!) And I can still ride him fine, so I never really needed to move on!

since i was 5!!!!! but sat on them from the age of 2!!!

my mum had a 16.1hh mare on loan i apparently i wanted to try her!!! I ode a 15hh cob type regularly....and then when i was about8 i was riding a 16.3hh/17hh shire x for my lessons and riding other horses....the fizzy ones, the ones that bucked...etc!!

I still ride ponies now 9when someone gives me the chance too!) but have my 16hh and i'm happy!! Will ride everything and anything!!

I started riding racehorses at 10yo. Generally around 16.2hh, although do remember an 18hh tubed monster that was very quiet.

I'm on my first horse and only ever had her, shes 15hh. Only ridden a pony like once, he was a 14.1hh RS pony. But in my RS lessons i ride betwenn 15.2hh and 16.3, sometimes ride my friends 17.2hh too, about once a week.

I started with a 14.2, then a 15.2, then a 12.2 (!), then a 15.3. When i say "then", i dont mean i sold them - i've still got them. I didnt start riding til i was 14. But i dont judge horses on their height (hence the 12.2!) - if they can carry me comfortably, then i'm happy! Would never sell a horse because i "look" too big on it!

20 and on an evil black pony, still ride him now although ridden a few in between. Started off on him with all the basics and he was really calm then in the last year (only 21 now!) he's lost the plot and been taken off beginner lessons, only just got him back now I can handle him tanking off.

Sorry, meant to say he's 14.2 and I'm 5'6, a bit tall for him but he's chunky and I'm only 9st and he certainly doesn't have any problems carrying me!

I've always ridden horses. I'v got quite long legs and just feel 'better' on a biger horse.

well i part shared 2 ponies, each for about 2/3 months, then went bck to horses.

I only just got my horse, and he's about 15.3hh, never had my own pony, but I've been riding since I was 5. At the riding school, I was always put on the 'naughty littluns' because I was small enough, but strong and experienced enough to school them for the little children.

I'm 15. I still ride my sister's pony, who's 13hh, and have been offered some riding on a gorgeous little welshie, who's about 12.2hh.
