When you got your first horse?
I'm in my early thirties (god I hated being 30) and I've had my boy for two years now.
After years as a little un begging and pleading my mum and dad to buy me a pony and many attempts at banging my fists and screaming failed and I ended up working at my local riding school every weekend for my free lesson mucking out, grooming and being a general child labourer!
After going to agricultural college I had a break from horses due to moving and work. Then I moved to my late grandads farm, bit the bullet, and bought the ginger hippo. Took me about 20 years but finally got my pony! :)

Got my first pony on loan at the grand age of 22. Also pleaded begged and sulked but parents to be honest were not in a position to get me one. Now at 46 I have 5 with the kids and never been a day without since .Good luck with your new one.

I was 8. And very very lucky. Although at the time i had some 'friends' who had a string of competition horses and had grooms to do everything other than riding.

Me and my sisters shared a pony (poor boy!) who taught us how to ride, really ride, stick on for dear life and just have fun. We didn't compete, we just had fun. The deal was that we could go for sleepovers with friends once a month but only for one night because if we didn't muck out for TWO mornings in a month, said pony would be sold. At 8 i was up at 6 every single morning, no later and have been ever since. Loved it, and still do at 19 :)

Oh I'm liking these stories :) I remember being extemely jealous of those kids at the riding school who had there own ponies but in a way I'm glad my parents didn't give in. I've worked hard to get my boy and I was very lucky as he was only 3 when I got him. Started him myself and he's a star. Not done a lot with him apart from potter about but he's brave and happy and that's all that matters to me. We can take our time and in no rush to enter badminton! :)

7 - Christmas day and there she was in a stable at the yard with a message tucked in her browband. Had one week since where I haven't owned a horse (nearly 40 years OMG!).
I was very lucky :-) She stayed with me for 20 years.
