Just bored and curious!

Work must be one of the loudest yards i have even been on!
We have a security dog section, cars up and down all day and night and loud music! We have a bridlepath and everytime gate opens the dogs start,

Whats ur yard like? Would you move if it was too much?

Mine, well a 30' by 60' shed, just my horses and the radio and one yappy terrier which shuts up when told!;)

Move? Never in a million years

My yard's very quiet, other than occasional mooing from the other side of the stream / barking from the farm, or sporadic traffic on the byway. But then, there's no reason for it to be noisy as there's only me there.

OK, I confess, there's also the occasional swear word yelled violently when one of the beasts stands on me / does something daft :D

Depends whether or not yard owner is there ;).

Our yard is quite large - 30 or so horses/ponies but it's divided up/quite higgeldy piggledy and Kal is in a little mini yard of five boxes overlooking fields set a little away from main yard so it's lovely and quiet and calm. His box faces one other box and then he has another four to his right and a view of fields, including his own and the gallops beyond.

When YO is there, the tractor seems to be running perpetually (barn where tractor is kept is right in the middle of the yard) and/or the radio is on in the barn . . . thankfully, accoustics of the place mean that we can't hear the radio from our stables - although the tractor does become the backdrop to all our activities.

On the weekends, when YO isn't there, it's usually blissfully quiet.

There is quite a busy rural road that runs along one boundary, but YO has built some huge earthen banks which a) blocks the roadside view of the yard (adding to the security); and b) takes care of most of the traffic noise . . . you only really hear it when you're out in the fields or on the gallops. The remaining three boundaries are farmland so you're more likely to hear cuckoos than car alarms :).

Lastly, the yard does have a rather large electricity pylon in the middle of one of the fields (not Kal's) that does hiss and crackle . . . but now, 5 months after moving there, I don't hear it at all.

my yards lovely only me yo and one other person. we are next to a very main fast road but it doesnt bother me i hardly ever see anyone at our yard but if i ride through the farm yard which is 2 mins away theres another livery yard there and always people there. some days i just go and sit in the field with my horse BLISS!!!! :D :D :D

Well I livery on a riding school yard so while the riding school is open, it can be pretty busy and noisy, especially in school holidays. Lots of children turning up for lessons, parents dropping off and picking up, pony club centre members helping out etc.

However I tend to only go up in the evenings (due to work not because of the yard) so normally it is only me or me and one other livery there. Occasionally I see the farmer tending to his cattle etc but normally I have the place to myself and the choice of either school.

My yard is just my 2 fuzzies & the lodger - Giant Fuzzy.
The adjoining neighbours come & go at slightly different times, and we are on an unmade track (good surface tho) so not much passing traffic except to the 4 houses further up.

The only noise (which I am used to) is the local small airfield which has a lot of light aircraft at weekends & a bit during the week.

Otherwise... around early/mid morning or at dusk I can even hear a rabbit sneeze from 2 paddocks away from the yard :D

My yard is very quiet, i like that :)

even though there a comps held there every few weeks, the actual yard itself is nice and quiet and i wouldnt move in a million years :D

Very quiet, but then there is only 4 liveries. Me and my friend are the noisy ones, mostly with our nattering.
We are tucked behind a tack shop but even that doesn't get very noisy, even though some people's parking leaves a lot to be desired sometimes.
I love my little yard and so does my boy.

Nice and quiet, the yard is split in to two barns which helps. It is not a small yard so I was expecting it to be noisy. No dogs allowed on the yard so no issues with barking. People tend to get on with their horses rather than standing about chatting, and there's no children. You can tell its a quiet yard because you always see deer near to the barns.

I have to put up with the cacophany of cuckoo, woodpeckers, pheasant and partridge. Oh plus sheep, a lone cow, the occasional aircraft and a tractor or two. I hardly see my fellow liveries during the summer.

I have a nasty suspicion it could all be about to change though, as my ears were rudely accosted yesterday by the verbal diarrhoea of a prospective new livery.

About 100 horses split onto 3 yards, cattle, tractors, people around, walkers with dogs.... You get the idea lol
New yard i move to tomorrow,4 owners (5 with me)10 horses including my 2, so pretty quiet.

Mostly pretty quiet since the liveries aren't all there at the same time (and there's only about 10 of them), but there is a very quiet radio which hilariously plays very quiet dubstep and dance music, which confuses the ponies a little. On the weekends there's a lot of clopping around and swearing as we get ready to hack and people are getting trodden on! Mostly it's the YO yelling for me to help inside the barn, while I'm having a lovely chat with a sleepy 37 year old shetland outside...

Ours is quite a big yard (50+ horses) and riding school, but generally it is pretty quiet, surprisingly! Saturday mornings can be busier, but I've been there at various times of the day/week and not seen or heard another soul! Always friends to meet if you want to arrange it, though :D I don't know if I would like it any other way - suits me perfectly! :D

I have a private yard, so appart from a lot of swearing at the horse when he stands on me, its very quiet :D

if i was on a normal yard, i would be pressured to leave if its very busy and had a lot of people on it.

The yard where I work and live now is a riding school as well so very busy - there are 28 liveries at the moment so over 50 horses in total...yard owner has 2 dogs which bark a fair bit, plus her partner is a big bale contractor so there is always machinery noise, from tractors to enormous combine harvesters! Also a corner of the yard rented to an insulation company so lots of lorries down in the carpark. Quite a few helicopters about too...so all in all, fairly noisy!

My own yard at home (left in my mother's care for now :( ) is lovely and quiet as it's at my house in the middle of the countryside with just me and always just one or two of my own horses. I loved having my horses at home but I have to admit that the company on a big yard is nice sometimes too!

As quiet as we want it most of the time, as its our own place. Very rural area, but with some local traffic. Outdoor pursuits centre one field away, so sometimes loud kids around, and we get fireworks at 10.30pm every Fri, Sat and Sunday as there is a wedding hotel on the hill just above us. The horses don't care, and the dogs love watching them!

Our yard is quite quiet! Mainly due to the fact that some people have multiple horses and a lot don't seem to really ride much. A vet commented on how quiet the yard was today actually. I love it, couldn't be doing with a busy yard and it means all the horses are chilled and in a routine.
