How sad ... can anyone here take her ?

Very sad. If that was my horse, at that age, I would seriously consider PTS rather than risk her being passed from pillar to post.

I would too, I certainly wouldn't sell her if I couldn't find a good home as a companion or loan.
 
Eh, I wouldn't write her off just because she's older. She's in good weight and looks healthy. Placed in the right home, I bet she'd have at least five more years of making someone happy.
 
I agree but I just hope they take the time to find her the "right home" .. when people sell for financial reasons as these people are they don't always have the luxury of time ....

Nothing wrong with an oldie, my tb mare is 24 this year and still out competing. She would have been out hunting too if the weather was better. I hope she finds a nice home for the rest of her days :)
 
Didn't someone on here post this a couple of weeks back? I seem to remember them emailing asking if they could make an offer and they would take the mare to use as a companion to their youngsters...was wondering what the outcome was........

Also nowt wrong with an oldie, especially polo ponies...some of them can go on for years with the right care! I still go for an odd hack on a 32 year old ex polo pony and she is the picture of health (especially after having lived out all this winter!) and raring to go (also officially belongs to Prince Charles wouldn't you know :) ).

So I wouldn't write her off, hope she finds a loving home to spend the rest of her days.

hey mosmum, polo ponies make great ponies. It depends if you are happy hacking out with one hand/neck reining they don't require any retraining really, if you wanted one for other things then yes some re-schooling would be required. To be a quiet hack the majority would be completely fine out of polo- i have found a few new homes out of polo and all are happy as larry as hackers, owners also v happy, they are so lovely to own!
 
Looks very well for age. I can't take her but she looks a very useful sort of light hack with a good couple of years confidence building left in her so BUMP in the hopes someone can take her.
 
I would take her too, but until my horses move to the family farm, and that won't be for at least another month, I can't.
She looks like she has many stories to tell.

Have been looking to fill the Starla shaped hole at my yard for a while now, plus getting a mare to cheer up my tb who hates her shetland gelding companion, plus finding something safe to escort my neice on little hacks around the woods. She could possibley fit the bill...

Totally agree with this!!!! My friend took on an oldie to keep her oldie company. Her mare died 3 years ago but the oldie companion is still going at grand old age of 39 and she gives the youngsters a run for their money!!!
 
I emailed and rang but got no reply, I would snap this pony up and I would not dream of putting her to sleep if she is still sound and happy!

I play polo and my best polo pony is 20 yrs old and looks like a 6 yr old due to fabulous care. I hack, hunt, jump all my polo ponies and all are impeccably behaved.

I would snap her up as an easy and well behaved hack. I was looking as someone I know wants ex polo ponies for disabled riders.

Both my polo ponies are 14'2hh and are hacked and ridden by beginner 11 yr old girls and an 8 yr old.

Some polo ponies have had bad pasts but if she has been out of polo for a while she should be fine. They have the best manners ever!

Yeah sorry I missed that when I first read it. Just googled the distance and not too far...

Edited: Just called the seller and pony has been sold. I do hope she's gone somewhere nice.
