How sad or obsessed do you have to be...

with a certain horse, that you'd honestly ride it 3/4/5/6/7+ times in a day if you could!

I think I've been bitten by the bug with the Grey Baby. Soon as I get off him after a session, I actually just want to get back on and do it over again and go onto trying the next thing to teach him.

He's such an easy quick learner, and honestly the easiest baby I have ever met or worked with. Been on my own up the yard today and as he's still very green, I always do him with someone on the ground atm till he's more established [and out of paranoia for me doing something wrong!] so I lunged him as normal and he was just such a chilled out boy, I thought 'Sod it, I'll get on him'. So, took him to the mounting block, gently got on him...not even a muscle twitch or change whatsoever. Just chilled. Completely chilled. Then proceeded to walk & trot, serpentines, figures of 8, circles, trot-halt-trot from voice, etc. All of which he got first time, with no questioning. He's just the biggest darling! I love him.
It's like he's read a bloody manual somewhere of 'How to be a riding horse' and just absorbed it for the past 3 years, as he's so smart and quick to learn bless him. He just genuinely loves work.

Not rushing things obviously ;) It's only a figure of speech...I just can't wait for it to be 6 months down the line when we'll be well on our way :D

He's just so lovely! I'm obsessed!

[Yes. Someone can slap me for being all soppy and silly :p]

i wish i could slap you but i feel the same about my new *hopefully if everything goes right* boy!
i honestly get giddy even thinking about him :o
good for you, he sounds ace ;)

Not silly at all, it’s lovely, so glad you are having so much fun with him! I know how you feel as I’m the same with Bodey, and I do sometimes ride him twice a day (obviously I tell everyone it’s for his fitness but really it’s cause I want too, lol). :D

Oh dear... been there done that -- mainly cos someone told me that a Welsh Cob couldn't do dressage - queue major obsession with direct transitions. That poor horse was so fit within 6 months that I had to feed him like proper hard feed to keep weight on... a Welsh Cob on a 'build up' diet.

However it's great fun, I'd much rather have a horse like him that I couldn't wait to get back on than one other one I had when I used to put off getting on... Sounds like your baby is going to go far.

*gratefully recieves slapsies*

Thankyou! I needed that. Back to being professional. LOL.

I'd like to be....but honestly, it is all him lol. He's just a natural at bloody everything he does. Always been like it though, his whole attitude is Mr.Nosy/Sweet/Confident and his way of life is 'when in doubt over something, wade your nose in it and investigate further!'

Bless him :p

Edited - sorry just read other replies after I posted lol. Thankies :D Glad to know I'm not the only one! :D

Same with my first pony, my welsh mare! I was bonkers about her. I'd be down all day most days.

*Sad update*

He went out for his first ride 'out' today :D Bless him. Including going through the 'scary' woody passage-way and then out round 8 acre field [SJ paddock], had a little walk and trot round there for ten mins or so and was just a chilled out dude still [What else! Lol]. Didn't even pay attention to the show jump course up out there, and only stopped to have a little wary look once when the cows started running off up the field above us.

He is da duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude!

:D :p :D
