How small????

Whats the smallest horse/pony i could ride? I am about 5ft6 and weight just under 10 stone. I have a baby that'll make between 13.3hh and 14.2hh. He is a cob. Will he be able to carry me, and not make me look too big on him???? Thanks

You'll be fine on him...you'll find he has quite a lot of 'bone' too so will be up to more weight than a finer type.

I reckon you'd be ok on anything down to a Welsh Section A...but waaaay too tall for a Shetland!

We've recently bought a haflinger that stands about 14 hands. I'm 5'8", weigh 10 stone and he has no problems carrying me! If you are on a cob type you should be fine on anything over about 13.2

Im 5ft 6 and about 9stone and my youngster is due to make 13.2hh and i plan to ride him. My friend is about 5ft8 and is about 10stone and she won a point to point riding a 12.2hh forester!

I'm 5'6 and 8 stone and I still ride my 13hh section B.

Sometimes I feel I need another couple of stone to weigh him down a bit more!!!
