I have posted about the horse I have found I like. I described him as a little on the cobby side, a leg in each corner type. I felt so safe on him I even jumped and hacked out alone (things I never do on a strange horse)

Well today I went to see him at his 3rd ever show, CR at RC I don't quite know what has happened but to look at he is totally different from what I remember:p. Its not because he got excited and grew 2 hands because he couldn't have been more perfect, he was interested in what was going on but was relaxed and listening to his rider. No spooking or gawping

when I have showed friend photos I have said he is chunkier in the flesh ( a tiny bit more cobby)

However he seems to have gone from a little on the cobby side to a small sports horse:) Just what the photo shows, just not what I saw or felt

Don't get me wrong I am over the moon, just confused

The only logical conclusion I can come to is that I felt so safe on him he just had to be like my friends trusted cob type

Has anything like this happened to you

My 17.1hh full ID rides like a 15.2hh cob cos he is so short and compact! TBH I can one day bring him in and he looks small and full ID stocky and then like today I brought him in and he looked like a thinner sports horse...weird isnt it.

Thats why they always say go see and try and horse a few times, I think we don't fully take in the horse the first time we see them!!

;)

My little mare always makes me giggle when I see her walking ... She is so eager and keen and with her wide chest she looks like an English bulldog puppy when she walks towards you ... A cockney one though as she doesn't stand still ;-p

I always think of my 15.2 as being very much a connie pony...but went to first showing show the other day and saw the judge ride him (I don't really ever get to see him ridden) and realised he is actually quite a hunter type.

I never pick up the same horse that I bought when I go to fetch it :D

Sometimes I'm disappointed and sometimes I'm thrilled, but they all work out OK in the end :) I don't know what happens in my brain between buying it and collecting it, but the horse definitely changes!

ps I am SO pleased for you that you are out and about getting the excitement of looking for another horse after your recent problems :)
