Still bonding with new horse but used to have a really good bond with my old one(the bay in pics below), she used to neigh to me when i whistled or came round the corner, and if we were at events would be quite unsettled if i disappeared and i would only have to whistle on my way back and she would be neighing and spinning round looking for me!!

Very strong with W although I think at times it's almost a well trained human slave thing! He loves having his bum and the underside of his tail stroked ever so gently, sends him all dozy and if you stop, he shuffles over and looks round to get you to carry on. The newbie is already a real fuss pot and just wants attention all the time, I'm very lucky me thinks

4 of mine; Oscar, Ezzy, Spotty Horse, Cloud and 3 of the boarding horses have a VERY strong bond with me, and I with them. The others I have a bond with but nothing like the ones I have with those mentioned above.

Aww, he sounds like such a sweetie

As for my girl, I'd say we're a match made in heaven!! "Felt" something I couldn't explain the first time I met her and now trust her with my life. She will do literally anything for me (went past a pneumatic drill and roadworks with just a few words of encouragement on her 3rd ever hack) and is the soppiest mare I have ever met. If she lies down she'll let me lie down next to her with her front legs in my lap and my head on her neck, lol (not that I'd encourage anyone to try this as its not the safest thing to do!!). She is one special girly and definatly my horse of a lifetime

To be fair she's an over pampered, overgrown, soppy donkey!! Lol!! She really is the daftest thing on 4 legs

You boy sounds lovely and to "click" so fast must be wonderful - just imagine what it will be like in a few years!! I had Tills from 15 months and that was 3 years ago and she wasn't exactly easy to begin with. Time is a wonderful thing.

it is great to have clicked so quickly with him but cant help but worry that it mite go wrong !!!
he is 21 bless him and how he is now is how he will always be i dont think he will change i just think that it will just get stronger

im so pleased

We have a strong bond I would like to think. She follows me around the field when I am poo picking and nudges me on the bum if I turn my back on her. She is always nudging me and when I am grooming her she sniffs my hair, not quite sure what that is all about. As soon as she sees me coming across the field she calls and if I leave her on the corale while I get her food she calls to see where I am

Maiden isn't the kind of girl who'll walk up to me in the field and get all soppy... unless I have food! Generally she'll stay 10ft away until I go to her. However she always knows whether it's me coming or, say, my mum and if I'm away for a few days will whinny at me

However I seem to have a stronger bond already with Darcy, the 3yo I'm looking after! She will whinny for me, run up to me and follow me round the field like a sheep. She'll watch me walk all the way back to my car and out of sight too. She loved it this morning when I picked the bot eggs off her legs and gave her some attention, she stood stock still (very good for a fidgety 3yo!). Darcy does this to anyone though, I think she's feeling a bit attention-starved at the mo as last week she was coming into the yard every day and being ridden, and this week she's been dumped in a huge field and is expected to winter out instead of being a grown-up horsey. Ah well, she'll get over it!
Oh, and Cookie knows who I am but is only ever remotely attached to me when I'm either carrying treats, or his dinner. I'm not fussed though as I only do him two days a week (if I'm lucky) and he isn't a cuddly horse anyway!

I have a solid bond, he will trott over the field to me, follow me like a puppy, panic if I go out of view and generally always want to be with me

Very strong with Mo, I have had him for 11 years and we have been through a lot together including him almost dieing.

I can't explain it. we understand each other so well, we seem to know what each other are thinking. When I'm riding he often does things as soon as I think of them before I get a chance to ask. If there is anything wrong with him I must pick up the smallest signs as often nobody else can see there is a problem, but I have always been right. He also watches me the whole time I am on the yard and always comes to me in the field or waits by the gate if I don't go straight up to see him.

It is wonderful to have a bond like this with a horse and I'm sure I will never have this again but I can't go on holiday for more than a couple of days without him pining and getting ill. Also, he's getting old now and I dreading losing him so much.

Funnily enough I knew he was the horse for me straight away and had to persuade his last owner to sell him!

Very strong, I only have to look at Beau and he will start grooming me and giving me kisses.
OH can actually make him lie down by scratching him! He absolutely loves it and it gets to the point he is leaning so much he just decides its easier to lie down so you can scratch his tum! I think he is part dog.

He is very protective in the field and wont let any other horse come near me, he can be funny with people he doesnt know but I can honestly say he has never been anything but an absolute angel for me, Ive never had to tell him off.

after coming back from my ride today,my son came up to the field today to let him out earl kept waiting for him and putting his head rite down for him to scratch him lol
bless him he likes little people
sb its great isnt it the big fellas are the best and such gentlemen with big hearts
