The most stubborn horse I've ever had or known was a ShireXClyde mare. She was a wonderful confidence giver for both riders and other horses. 100% in the heaviest of traffic, she once took her own wussy field companion and 2 unfamiliar horses that we met at that point, past a bus on a narrow road BUT she had her own ideas about how things should be done and did NOT appreciate any-one telling her anything different. MY current IDx mare runs her a close 2nd, although she is not so clever about appearing to let you win.
Charlie will not school without frustrated flapping from us. period.
Will only canter when pointed at a jump but will stop/walk directly after!
He grudgingly hacks out but will go at a snails pace for the first half, only picking up to frail elderly persons pace on the way home.
When I first started bringing him in last week he had a hissy fit and backed up, bronked & reared several times and threw himself on the floor in temper!
If he doesnt want to hack out he will reverse into the nearest ditch.
But...I love him to bits, and have just bought him!!
Hes just a character and for my daughter hes a great confidence giver.
Mine is a 20, he is the most stubborn horse I know. My family all laugh at me & say its karma as I can be, on occasion, slightly stubborn
It is very annoying sometimes when I am in a rush & he decides to act like an a*** but I most of the time I just wait until he gets bored!
