My mare just had her foal on March 19th, the foal is an oldenburg/thoroughbred (girl) and I was wondering how tall other peoples foals had grown up to be so we can have an estimate as to how tall she may become! She currently stands at roughly 11 hands (at less than a week old).

Any ideas as to how tall she could grow up to be?
(the dam was 15.3 and the sire was 17.1)

Dam was 17hh, sire 16.2hh. Going back most of the lineage was around the 16.2 mark with a few exceptions so we expected, and bred, to get a 16.2hh.

Currently, at rising 5, he is 17.2hh!!! He is KWPN, as are his 'parents'.

Some years ago, I used the same stallion (16.2hh) on 3 different mares, who ranged from 15.3 to 16.1 and have had foals ranging from 16.0hh to 17.0hh, so it can be a bit of a lottery! :-)

Yep, total lottery. 16hh Appaloosa stallion to 14.2 Appaloosa mare and currently have a 16hh 3 year old. Was hoping for 15.2 at most.

Echo the above.

Big Ears is out of a 15.2hh mare by a 15.3hh stallion. She's 15.3hh now at 6 and has been since she was 3.

Her full sister was 16.2hh at 3. Not convinced she'd finished growing either.

My 15.2 mare (ID) has had 2 foals. Harry now 5, ( sire 16.2 WB)was about 10.2 when born, he was 15.2 at 2, I was worried he would end up over 17hds. He's now 16.2. Aria, was about the same height born, and 15.2 now at 2. ( sire about 16.3) So hoping shes going to follow her brother and only grow a bit more.

I did the string test, and both of them come out at 16.3

Mirren ( same sire as Harry), was 13.2hds at 18months old. Her dam is 16.2. Shes 5, and standing about 15.2/3 ish

OP sounds as though your filly could make 16.2+

I breed for 16.2hh ideally, most of our youngsters will/do stop at 16.2hh but I have one mare who throws slightly larger than herself and so I always make buyers aware that hers will likely make 16.3hh.

Milo was a smidge under 10hh when born, at 11 months his butt is about 14hh and front end is about 13'3 or so. He was stood next to his half sister tonight and there's maybe 3/4 inches difference max between them - his sister is rising 3, he's 11 months. Same sire, different, similar size mares.

Mares sire was 16.1, dam was 15.1 - 15.2. She ended up being 15h on tip toes!
Filly - sire supposed to be 14.2 - dam 12.2. She is currently rising 4 and only 12.3 /13h.
Old pony mare, 14.1h. Colt sire 15h, Dam 15h.

I've yet to have any horse who is/was bigger than we believed nature should let.... maybe that is a sign I'm doing something different to all of you who have on growing beasts!!

Mine was 17hh at 2 years (Im 155cm)

Could try the string test, I tried with my grown horses a while ago and pretty sure it was close (altho I thought there was an age to do it at):

Hold a thick piece of string in one hand, and place the string directly over the centre of the foal's knee. If you don't have string handy, a piece of flexible twine from an open hay bale is an acceptable substitute.
3

Pull the string down along the cannon bone with the other hand, stopping at the coronet. Draw a line across the string at this junction with a permanent marker.
4

Lay the string on a flat surface, and measure it from the end to the marker spot. This measurement, in inches, will give you an approximate adult height for your foal. For example, if the measurement is 15-1/2 inches, then the foal should mature around 15.2 hands tall.

16hh 7/8TB mare, 16.2hh KWPN stallion. Mare is 15.2hh (just) and stopped growing as a 5yo. Her full brother (stallion) is 15.3hh at rising 4yo and has just gone bum high again and looks likely to finish around 16hh.

15.2hh mare (Orlov x), 16.1hh stallion. Offspring (gelding) is already standing 15.2hh at rising 2yo, oops!

My 2010 foal was an absolute tiddler when he was born, only 6hh :D He has now reached the lofty height of 11hh :) His full sister was a 2009 foal, she is 11.1hh.

Tim is a pure cleveland bay and the breed standard states around 16-16.2hh. No one told Timmy he is almost 19hh and will be 4 in may.
