Usually 14-14.2hh but I think there are American type/bred Connies that can grow over 15hh. But then just because you have a certain breed doesn't always mean that you will get every typical characteristic of that breed etc, we had a pure bred highland pony who was over 15hh
I knew this little guy would be over height, but was not expecting him to be so tall at this point! I suspect it is some kind of genetic throwback...possibly to a large dinosaur! At least he seems to be filling out a little now. Bred in Ireland, from standard sized ponies, btw. Appears to have delusions of being a tb
I think they are getting a bit over sized now! officially not over 14'2 but sure there are some bigger ones!
my boys dad was supposed to be 14'2 but looked much much bigger, so not sure if they registered him as smaller because they were using him for breeding! my boy is a connie x tb and is 3yrs old! was supposed to make 15'2 but is 16'1 at the bum already! 15'3 at the withers
My two 16:3 full brothers appys parents are both around 14:2/14:3 hh and yes we did see them.
Apparently no matter what stallion they put the mare to she 8 times out of ten throws 16hh + offspring....
I think they come in all shapes and sizes now but 148cm is the official maximum height. Mine grew to 146 cm by 2 years old and is still 146 cm and is 7 now so maybe yours wont be much bigger depends on feeding and care as well as genetics
