How tall??

Hi there,

just wanted to find out some other people's opinions. If I could ask only people with personal experience rather than theory to reply please.
I have 2 year old filly, conemmara x sella francais. She is just over 14.3 hh but slightly under 15hh. How much taller will she get??? Her mother is 15.1hh, father was only 14.3hh. But the filly's grandma (her mother's mother) was 16.1hh.
Some people say not much more, some that she has still plenty to grow into.
I know that thoroughbreds mature/grow much faster than warmbloods. But still would like to have an idea from somebody who has the experience breeding similar horse.

You may be suprised at how much growing she may do over the next year. The three year old we have probably was around the same height as yours as a two year old. She is a good 15.2 now and beautifully proportioned, so unlikely to grow any more, just mature.

I would say it's unlikely that yours will hit the 16hh mark. But who knows?

probably has another couple of inches in her i'd say around 15.2 and she probably won't reach her true height until she is at least four. Is this the mares first foal or have you got the hieghts of other offspring to compare to, as some mares breed big e.g. my gelding was the mares first, dam 14.1, sire 14.2 my gelding grew to 15.1 so size of parents is only a general rule.
