Turned up at the field and our elderly mare was only wearing her under rug. Over which I had put her rainsheet. The rain sheet was almost entirely in half! The shoulder attachments were ripped on both sides and in half from neck to almost tail!

Just wondering how it got that way! We do have on that nips the others.

Rug fairys.... They are a total menace at this time of year... Beware the ones that take off rugs (totally intact) with all clips and straps done up and leave them in a pile on a rainy day...

Threads like this make me love my little man...not a single rip in any rug, and all are only dirty on the left side, the right side of all of them is spotless. There is even a rug ripper in his field but he manages to keep him at bay :D clever pony

haha I my girly is AMAZING with her rugs, if she's not out 24/7 in one it won't have a mark on it no rips/ tears/ mud etc as she doesn't roll and no horse dares intrude on her personal space to rip it. If she is out overnight with a rug on she only gets mud up either side and not on top...... special pony :D
I do feel for you though Horses are a nightmare. :p

I once went down to the field to find one of my horse completely naked appart from his neck attachment (the only thing he could reach)!!!! The rug was shredded and he had pulled the stuffing out so it looked like it had snowed in his field!!!!

Driving along yesterday I passed a local yard where they have individual turnout with electric fencing. What caught my eye was one horse reaching over the fence holding the top of the other horses neck cover and pulling. The other horse was reversing out of his rug!
I could just picture the owners face wondering how on earth he got out of it when there are not even solid fences to rub it along!!!

lol!! :D

My mare destroyed her neck rug, came down one morning to find only the outer *frame* of it with clips still intact and the entire filling etc trailing along between her legs!
