How to attach a competion number xc !HELP!

I am entering in a hunter trial and only realised the day before that I will have to wear a competion number but I dont have a bib what can I do to attach it to my body protector as I cant use pins. I was thinking string but I am afraid it might slip down during the competition. HELP

Have just replied to your other post, most hunter trials will have bibs that they lend out for a small deposit, check their schedule.
