I hear abou tpeople soaking new tack in neatsfoot, but unfortunately I don't have a barrel of this to dunk new saddle in. It has a kind of waxy feel to it, how is best to clean/moisturise it?
Neatsfoot rots the stiching so no no. but I recommend Ko-cho-line on the underside of the leather and a little rub with your cloth on the topside, but not too much or you run the risk of red jodhs.
Ko-cho-line is for storage of tack, not for cleaning.Your best option is to buy a leather feed such as Effax or Hamanol and use this regularly on all your leather tack.
