As the title says really.

One of the livery's has brought a coloured youngster and has offered him to me. I dont want to say yes ill have him if he wont make the size i need.

Im not too sure how big he is at the moment. I tried to compare his and Jed's legs last night and his seem just as long already. Jed is 15.3hh. The baby is supposed to be 2 but i think he is slightly younger.

Many thanks.

I remember being told you measured a yearling from the ground to his elbow and doubled it ...

Not sure how accurate that is tho'

Don't necessarily go by the parents' heights.... Sire of my boy is 16hh, dam was 16.3hh, Pickle is 17.3hh (give or take - I haven't had a stick on him for a while!). At just four years.

My girl is just 4 and approx 15.3, her sire is 16.1 and her mum 16.2, she is still bum high by about 2 inches so don't think she has stopped growing yet! Some take longer than others but "generally" look at both parents and previous progeny if poss.

Our new youngster's mum is 16.2 and dad 16.1hh. He is just 3, just over 16hh now but bum high so think he will make 16.2hh!
