How to find grazing

Those of you who rent a field/grazing, how did you manage to find it? I have asked around, contacted local land-owners, advertised, and still getting no-where! I wouldn't mind but it's very rural here... I'd rather not part with the horses, one of them would be difficult to re-home.. even if I decided to loan her out again, still need somewhere to put her if she came back.

Livery yards, well there just aren't any, and I don't drive due to a medical problem so can't travel too far unless on a bus route.

if a rural area perhaps try leaving a laminated or waterproof note including phone number on gates of possible fields? obviously you run the risk of some not so nice person getting your phone number but you also might get a call with the offer of the field!
