I'm really enjoying exploring the local area hacking with my mare boxing up since I got my lorry last year, we've done all the nearby routes on the BHS Dobbin access maps (until we can drive further away!). It would be great to know any Facebook groups or websites that suggest good routes or areas for hacking. Or how you find good places to go. I'm on the 'rides: routes, maps and videos' FB group which is fab for anyone else who is NW or Midlands. I've got decent offroad hacking from home, but no hills and I like exploring ?

This web site shows Bridleways, Byways etc for anywhere in the country on OS maps.

Also have a look at mountain bike guides.

Check out the county council websites for the areas around you. I am in Sussex and East and West Sussex CC have imaps which are great for finding ROW. I find good places to hack by exploring using those maps.

Fab thank you, I'll have a look at these properly tomorrow. I've had a quick look at the footpath map and all our normal routes either aren't marked or are footpaths, but are definitely fine for horses. I guess I'll have to do some investigation of some stuff on foot first! I'm south Manchester/north cheshire. Usually we are spoilt with places like somerford, kelsall and the beach but have to get creative at the moment! Some of the peaks routes should be good when we can travel a bit further again ?
