If you are interested in buying a horse that has done BSJA, how do you find out its previous record? I have looked on the website but it doesnt seem to be like eventing where you can put a name in and it will tell you the results. Does anyone know please?

You have to pay for it! You can see if the horse is register and what grade but then its about £10 to actually see its record. A complete rip off if you ask me.

I would def. get to see its print out. I nearly drove 3 hours to see a horse that sounded perfect and had won a decent amount jumping and over big classes, but I got its print out and it was awful hadn't jumped bigger than 1m in 2 years, yes it had done what they said but something had obviously gone wrong with it.

Phone the BSJA up if the owner won't give you a copy, they are really helpful over the phone - ask how many DCs its got, what classes its been jumping etc.

Thanks, but its for a friend who has already bought the horse!! She thinks its wonderful so thats good but she just wondered if she could find out! Personally, i would have found out before buying it but hey ho it takes alsorts!!

What's even more of a rip off is that you don't get a print out. You have to print it out yourself if you order and pay online!!

And, it states that the info is only available for an hour. After that you have to pay again! Complete and utter cheek!! :

"The records you have purchased below will only remain active for approx 1 hour. After this time you will need to repurchase the record"

I thought it would be nice as a keepsake, to have an official printout. But no. and I haven't got a printer! Have managed to copy and paste into a Word Doc thank god.
