Hi, I'm intending to do a blanket clip on my horse. It'll be the first time I've clipped, although she has been clipped many times before and it absolutely fine with it.

Can you give me any advice on how to get a tidy finish? I intend to do a blanket clip, and am going to mark it out in chalk!

Sharp blades and a clean horse. Clean the blades frequently and let them cool down every so often as well. Don't be afraid to press firmly to get a nice smooth cut. Finish off with very hot damp towels to wipe off your horse and he will absolutely gleam.

Edited to add: wear overalls or something similar that all the hair won't stick to
