My friends horse has got full pink KWPN papers for her horse but not the original passport which was 'lost' in transit when it was imported from Belgium (sp). She has obviously now sorted it a British passport to comply with the law but she would like to get hold of a duplicate of it's original KWPN passport as the horse is well bred, jumps BSJA etc.
How would you go about this and to whom would you apply, and do you need DNA samples etc ???
Thankies in advance

KWPN horses are issued with 2 documents - a passport and a registration paper which is an A4 sheet showing their registration details and pedigree.

You can get a duplicate of either one of these documents or both of them. I would ring the KWPN helpdesk in Holland on 0031 341 255555 or email them (info@kwpn.nl) and ask them to send you the instructions and necessary forms to fill in.

When you return the form you will also need to send some hair samples for them to do a DNA test. The critical thing is you muct know who the horse is as the DNA test can only confrim he is who he is supposed to be. It cannot tell you who he is if you don't already know. Assuming the DNA test is fine, they'll send you the new passport and/or registration paper. While you are on to them, make sure they know you have just bought him and they will update the ownership details for you too.
