How to get gelding to drop his willy?

Apologies if there is already a thread on this somewhere. I’ve been advised by my vet to apply a cream to a lump on my gelding’s penis. The lump is right at the top of it and currently he won’t drop it without sedation. Any advice?

What's the cream and how important is it that it goes directly onto the lump? If the cream isn't expensive and it won't harm healthy tissue and he'll let you fiddle up his sheath, then I would just bung a good bit up as far as I could get it.

Dex drops his as soon as he's relaxed, so does he have an itchy spot that you can scratch for a while and see if that works?

i find some horses drop it if you do carrott stretches, mine do, had to do it for the vet once!

Grab hold and pull steadily, some massage can help
