Sorry about this rather strange post but I am a little lost...

I need to get my horses back checked but I really don't know who to contact. Should I get a physiotherapist, chiropractor or osteopath? Or are they all the same?

I used to have someone to 'realign' my horses backs some time ago but can't trace him now and I'm not even sure he was qualified anyway!

My horse hasn't had his back 'done' for about 4 years so I really need to get it done as soon as possible.

Also, can anyone recommend anyone in the Stratford or surrounding areas?

I would post on here your area then look for a "back man" that way, then you can also get reviews too.

I asked around and found my horses back man via word of mouth backed up by reviews from here. :)

Thanks for your replies so far - I am based between Stratford on Avon And Evesham in the Midlands.

What is the difference between the three - ie physio, chiro and osteo?

Different methods to get the same result, Chiro use spinal manipulation not sure about osteo as not used, Phyiso use laser, manip, tens thingy and stretching, I like physio best but that is just my personal pref, had good results on 1 horse with Chiro, not on others :)

I use a Bowen therapist, one that was recommended to me. I would always go with someone who is recommended as like most things there are people who can do more harm than good.

I can recommend John Conifey - he has treated my horse and many others at my yards and is excellent. I've always had good feedback from people who I have referred to him. PM me if you want his number.

Contact your vet and ask for their recommendation. By Law any practioner has to have veterinary permission to treat anyway.
