i have a 15hh mare. she has acres of grazing and she seems to go the furthest away from the gate so it takes ages to get her. there is no mounting blocks or anything so i was just wondering if you know how i would get on her bareback so i dont have to pull her all the way back with her refusing and at the same time have a good gallop together (she loves a good run) thankyou

I can still vault on a 15h but not anything bigger anymore. If the fence isn't suitable keep a bucket or similar at the bottom to get on from.

Ah just learn to vault on! 15hh should be easy enough...I max out at 15.2hh, that's my way of deciding height haha!

I used to swing vault from their mane when I was younger and more petit built [aka - boobless!], but now just jump straight on over their back normally, count to 3 and just vault, hold yourself over their back for a second and then just swing your leg over like mounting.

I tried vaulting on my 14.1hh pony with the help of a bucket, I put in a bit too much effort and came straight off the other side. Pony took herself home at a gallop. Solved the problem of leading her back from the far end of the field

Just be a bit careful though Horseluver as you've only had the horse a few days. Make sure you have a hat on and go steady. I'd not be vaulting on and galloping round in a head collar if I wasn't 100% sure of the pony.
