How to get puppy to walk on lead

Hi iv just bought a 4month old maltese who refuses to walk on the lead either inside or outside, if you put the lead on him he just lies down, iv tried playing, praising him and giving him treats while he is on the lead but he still refuses to move! any hints?!

I posted the very same thing a few days ago - the solution was so simple...

Try walking with the dog rather than trying to get the dog to walk with you - once the dog gets the idea that lead means walk together, they will start to follow you
