I'm quite shy, and don't have a horsey atm :( I want to ask if I can help at my local yard, but don't quite know what to say?I do know I should probably man up and do it, but I have noooo idea what to say! Help please, oh great HHO :p

Hi, phone them cos over the phone is always easier.
Just ask to speak with the yard manager and then say your looking to get some more experience and to help out on a yard. If your also looking for a ride in return then mention it.
I've worked on yards before and we were always more than happy if someone asked to help out. The worst they can say is that they don't need anyone and if they do ask if they know any other yards around.

Ah, great thank you! :)

Yes, honest! Do you think it would be acceptable if I sked for my friend or would most people prefer if she rang seperately? Can you tell I'm clueless?:p

She should definately ring seperately, you don't want it to look like the two of you are inseperably and just looking to mess around at a yard together. It sounds much more mature if you ring up seperately and shows that you're independent not just doing it because your friend is too!
Good luck, I'm sure you'll have a great time once you find somewhere :)

Thank you, that's what I thought, but she is a bit clingy and a bit like omg, speak to someone without my mummy/daddy? :o
