Am very concerned about my 9 yr old bitch after the sad loss of her 'brother' on New Year's Day.
She seems to be coping ok and has stopped looking for him all the time but of course she's not getting the same kind of play that she used to have with her brother.
OH is adament we're not having another dog so the poor girl is left on her own now while we're at work. Unfortunately I have to walk her really early so we don't meet any dogs then and have my own yard so no other dogs there either.
Don't really want to do serious obedience with her (but would take her to classes just to get her to meet other dogs), and she's not really a show dog and is too much of a wimp to do agility.
I play with her and we go running but she seems to enjoy it briefly and then she curls up somewhere and doesn't seem too interested.
Any ideas what else I can do to keep her happy? She's in good health and I really don't want her to deteriorate because she's lonely.
