One of mine has to be on restricted turnout due to the hard ground/weight- but he's getting bored!!

I have a Decahedron, which he has a handful of nuts in twice a day, and a soaked haynet at night. Tomorrow I'm going to chop some carrots up and scatter them around his paddock for him to find.

Any more ideas about keeping him entertained? He's very active and alert so needs entertaining as if he gets bored he'll either jump out or barge through the fencing!!!

please help!!!

Put the swede on a rope in the stable...

Grazing masks (shires bucket ones) have made an amazing difference to the weight of our horses this year. They wear them for 12 hours in the field, then come iin overnight, and are looking great, despite us having about 2 feet of grass!!

swede sounds like a plan....

however I forgot to add that he isn't stabled- he's in his 20's and stiffens up- which doesn't help this particular situation at all.

and as for the grazing muzzles- he doesn't like them at all, and I don't like them either.
It's not really a weight loss issue as opposed to trying to maintain him at the weight he's at whilst he isn't in his usual work due to the ground.
