(sorry if thats spelt wrong)
so ye basically how do you do it, what do you need, and does the horse/pony need any training or anything.
might sound a bit dumb but i have never learnt to do it.
would like to give it a try as lungeing and walking out is getting a bit old (pony is temporarily off work and this is what has been suggested)
manythanks xx :)

Might be best to try and find someone to show you - instructor? - as it's a bit fiddly and you're likely to get tangled up in the lines if you're both new to it. If your pony has voice commands he should take to it easily enough, but first time, it's invaluable to have someone show you the ropes I think :) good luck!

Riding hat, boots and gloves for you, bridle, roller and long reins for horse (2 lunge lines is fine) Boots if horse normally wears them. Attach long lines to bit rings and then feed through the rings on the roller. I find it better to walk to one side of the horse rather than directly behind him so I let one of the lines lay over his back so that they are both on one side of his bum. You should then be ready to go. My horse is brilliant at long reining but I would suggest someone walk at horses head if youre not sure how he will react, you take control and give the commands, the person at the head is just there to guide if needed. Once you get accomplished you should be able to guide him round you in a circle using the reins and your voice. Good luck, Che and I have walked miles round the farm like this, more exercise for me!! It can be a bit tricky until you get the hang of it, dont let the reins get too slack so you trip over them and dont wrap them round your hands in case you have to let go
