How to make new leather boots more grippy!

As the title really, I brought some new long leather boots but tried them for the first time today and I could not get any grip around my horse.

I normally ride in suede chaps which stick to anything but I found it really hard today and my legs were sliding around everywhere!

Such a shame my legs are not long enough for Bromonts!!!

Any advice?

I know someone who'd rub a handful of hay/straw up the inside of the boot after cleaning them. might be worth a try?

Try rubbing a bar of glycerine saddle soap on the insides of your boots. I find it really works

There is some kind of "sticky" spray you can buy too. Think its meant for spraying onto your saddle seat, but I assume you can use it on your saddle flaps too. Cant remember the name of it though!! There's some here (although American, gives you the idea though):
